AI can make the thing. Can I explain it?
An honest note on the difference between directing a build and knowing the code.
RENILSON + KOLA / NJHello, I am
I’m studying computer science, building projects, and documenting what I learn along the way. This is one place for the work, the questions, and the life around it.
Software, storytelling, and studies. The labels describe what exists, not what I hope to finish.
01 / 06THE STORY / THE WORLD / THE EXPERIMENTA science fiction story, bilingual reading site, and interactive world concepts.
02 / 06Interview practice turned into a game. One floor is playable; the full app is still being built.
A PC gaming optimization tool. I’ve worked on backend and harness pieces with Thiago’s guidance.

A Matrix inspired language experiment, built with substantial AI assistance and used to explore how interpreters work.
Python study with Thiago. AI generates exercise sets; I work through my own solutions.
A personal software experiment inspired by my work at UPS. I’m developing the app and testing it with real users, making it one of my strongest sources of hands-on project experience.
A home for what I’m studying, where my career is going, and what technology makes me question.

An honest note on the difference between directing a build and knowing the code.

What happens when the projects move faster than my understanding, and how I’m trying to close that gap.

Learning to talk about progress without pretending the transition is complete.
I’ve loved computers since I was young. Hardware was my first connection to them, and over time I became more curious about the software behind it. I tried mobile programming once, but didn’t continue. Back then, I had a different impression of the field. I also completed a bachelor’s in Librarianship (2017–2026).
Moving from Brazil to the US helped me focus more on my professional life. Meeting Angel, my wife, helped that focus grow. When I started studying Computer Science, I felt how much this field matched me. I enjoy building things, but understanding what happens beneath the surface makes me even more curious.
Today, I’m learning in two ways. Writing Python helps me build my foundations. Working with AI teaches me about planning and managing agents. MatrixLang has pushed my curiosity and creativity, while Graph Boost, a private project with my mentor, has introduced me to more of the engineering process.
I’m also building an employee manager from scratch in Python, putting what I know into practice and learning new things as I go. I’m still exploring where all of this might lead. For now, I’m enjoying the process.

ANOTHER FRAME / ANOTHER SIDEMusic came first. These are a few moments from that story, plus the games I keep coming back to.
I started playing alto sax in the orchestra at the church I attended. In 2017, Everaldo Pio and I founded A Casa 492. After moving to the US, I stopped playing with the band, but kept making guitar covers for Instagram.
